The Great
Commandments
Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?
Jesus
said to him,
You shall love the Lord your
God with all your heart, with all your soul and
with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the
second is
like it.
You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
Matthew 22:36 - 39 |

"Life's Principles" |
Matthew 5: 1-11 The Beatitudes
1 And
seeing the multitudes, He went up on a mountain, and when He was seated His
disciples came to Him. 2 Then
He opened His mouth and taught them, saying:
3
“Blessed are the
poor in spirit, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
4 Blessed
are those who
mourn, For they shall be comforted.
5 Blessed
are the meek, For they
shall inherit the earth.
6 Blessed
are those who hunger
and thirst for righteousness, For they shall be filled.
7 Blessed
are the merciful, For
they shall obtain mercy.
8 Blessed
are the pure in heart,
For they shall see God.
9 Blessed
are the peacemakers,
For they shall be called sons of God.
10 Blessed
are those who are
persecuted for righteousness’ sake, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11 “Blessed are you when they
revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for
My sake. 12 Rejoice and be
exceedingly glad, for great is
your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before
you.

The
Power of Prayer
Are any of you suffering hardships? You should pray. Are any of you happy?
You should sing praises. Are any of you sick?
You should call for the elders of the church to come and pray over you,
anointing you with oil in the name of the Lord.
Such a prayer offered in faith will heal the sick and the Lord
will make you well. And if you have committed any sins, you will be
forgiven. Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that
you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great
power and produces wonderful results.
Elijah was as human as we are,
and yet when he prayed earnestly that no rain would fall, none fell for
three and a half years! Then, when he prayed again, the sky sent down rain
and the earth began to yield its crops.
