This Year We have 3 Quilt Exhibits: Hoffman Challenge,
"The Supper Quilt", Don Locke has been practicing general dentistry for 43 years. While working full time he created his version of Leonardo da Vinci's "The Last Supper". The Supper is Don's second quilt. His first quilt was made using the same technical concept and featured himself and his wife Marilyn in the quilted cloth. There are 51,816 pieces of fabric. Each piece measures 1/2 inch on edge. There are over 350 different fabrics used. Many were hand dyed by Don to obtain the correct color. The entire quilt is 67”x 183”. While working full time as a dentist, Don took 2.5 years to sew the pieces together. He estimates that there are 1200 hours of work in this effort and Rogue Art Quilters River Quilt challenge “Along the Rogue” panels. The river is north of the valley and runs from Crater Lake to Gold Beach Oregon. Each artist used the same “river” fabric, and the river connects one quilt to the next. We challenge ourselves to create pieces for group shows and are proud of the fact that some of our quilts have been touring the US. It is made up of 19 quilts by different artists measuring approx. 39 feet long.
